Senke successive Iemoto

From the first Urasenke to the present

Senke 3rd Sotan handed over the suspicious sword to his third son, Koshin Sosa, built a new tea room on the premises and retired, and moved with his fourth son, Sen no Sōtan. The tea room at this time was Kyoan (1st tatami mat), Matakaku, which reproduced Rikyu's 4 and a half tatami mats, and Kanuntei (8 tatami mats).

Twenty-four solar terms divide a year into 24 equal parts and give names that represent the seasons on the days that include the division points (solar terms).

Senke Ten Jobs

Senkejishoku

It is a honorific title that represents ten craftsmen such as painters and joiners who go in and out of the three thousand families involved in the tea ceremony.

Rikyu Hyakushu

Sen no Rikyu borrowed the form of waka poems and collected 100 heads of the spirit of the tea ceremony and the knowledge of the etiquette in 31 letters so that even beginners can easily understand and remember them.
