Unfortunately, due to the new coronavirus, the entire Bay Area has been under a "shelter in place" ban since the beginning of March, and the planned 4-seat tea ceremony demonstration by Our shachu which was planned for March 11,2020 was completely cancelled.
Then, just a week ago, I received a call from the Cherry Blossom Festival Executive Committee that they would like to hold a Cherry Blossom Festival on the ZOOM. I, tokotoko-sensei, who has been away from work for a long time, didn't even know what ZOOM was, and somehow managed to get through the challenge. However, there are many things to reflect on.
First of all, as I mentioned before, due to the shelter in place, only the residents of our house could participate in the filming, so I tried to negotiate with the person in charge (filming in the garden, for example), but it was unsuccessful and I, Tokotoko-sensei, had no choice but to do everything.
In the past, I would have offered tea and sweets to those who came to the event, but as I promised in the recording, I decided to do it next year. There will be no tea and sweets this year, but if you would like to join us. Please watch it. It's a long recording, but you can see it in the first hour or so (the third).
