Having lived overseas for a long time, I have become very concerned about the Japanese archipelago, which lies far away in the far corner of the Pacific Ocean. I sincerely hope that the Japanese people live a peaceful life in their homeland, which is always peaceful and beautiful from afar. I think it's true that as you get older, those feelings become stronger and stronger when you're far away.
We have been introducing Japanese culture to local schools (from kindergartens to universities) and local communities through the tea ceremony. They are warmly welcomed wherever they go, and even with the current situation in America, where there is so much anime and information coming out of Japan, it's clear that people are showing an incomparable amount of interest compared to 30 years ago.
This time, it was a personal dream of mine to have the opportunity to perform a tea ceremony and serve tea to members of the U.S. military at a Japan-U.S. military friendship party at the official residence of the Japanese consul in San Francisco. This is also thanks to the extraordinary recommendations of the consulate officials. We hope that you will understand even a little bit of Japan's gentle spirit of hospitality, and that we would like you to understand the true spirit of Japan. Thank you very much to all the staff at the embassy for their cooperation! ! I have nothing but gratitude. The military personnel also seemed really relaxed and relieved. I was filled with joy that I was able to take this step forward.Click here for details. This photo is provided by the Consulate of Japan in San Francisco.
